Baby News!

I have just posted 2 (3 including this one) new posts so if you missed those scroll down they were delayed because Blogger was not letting me upload pictures for the last few weeks!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well here we are at 23 weeks (and 1 day)! I know I say this a lot but really where has the last almost 6 months gone? This is just going super fast, don't get me wrong I love that in just 17 weeks we will be meeting our little guy, but I just hope I can savor these last few months of this pregnancy and these last few months of just Bryan and I time (and Bella)! It's true what they say you don't realize how much you want to do just the two of you til' you are in countdown mode to become three! We have a growing list of a some tours and places we want to go on and see before Bennett arrives and probably not enough time! But such is life, and I wouldn't trade it for anything! We also have a growing list of things that still need to be done! It's insane how much we have to do to get ready lol but thankfully we got a good start on that list last weekend and got a few things crossed off! Yay for teamwork...or a very wonderful husband who doesn't complain too much when I tell him we need to go buy more things and he needs to put them together!

Last weekend we were able to go to the Monkey Man store and buy a few shelves for Bennett's nursery, and wouldn't you know they had lime green book cases! Seriously that was the highlight of the shopping trip! I won't show a finished product yet that will have to come with the nursery reveal but here is a picture of Bryan putting it together without instructions since they were in Japanese!

The nursery is coming together pretty well! I am very happy with the progress we are making and love adding new things to it! I still have sewing left to do for the bedding and curtains, but I work better under pressure anyways, so maybe those will get finished in August lol I am however finding new little DIY decor projects to do, which seem a lot more fun than sewing so I have been working on those (and other projects for our apartment as well) and that is what has been taking up most of my time!

Bennett is a MOVER, I was just feeling his movements mostly at night time but it seems lately it's an all day occurrence, some days more than others but for the most part I feel him through out my day. This is one of those pregnancy things I hope to never forget! It's just such an amazing part of life that seems so unreal! Bryan has been able to feel him move a few times, and that is always nice when I can share this experience with him, I know Bryan probably thinks he just gets the crappy part of pregnancy! The putting together furniture, and clothes shopping, and my complaining that my feet hurt and my heartburn is killing me! So when he can experience the fun things too, I like that =)

No new news on the doctor front. I don't go back to the doctor until the 18th of May I will be at 28 weeks then which seems hard to believe! But I guess with all the pregnant women here they don't have room to see you at 24 weeks unless you are high risk so I guess I am happy that I won't be seen then!

Not really any other new pregnancy news to report, heartburn is still going strong and I am still trying to gain a few pounds here and there. The doctor reported at 21 weeks I had gained a total of about 3 pounds, so yay for a little weight! But I think Bennett might be going through a growth spurt this last week, because all I have wanted to do is eat! So hopefully he is growing nice and strong and big in there!

And here is my 23 week Bennett Belly picture! I am carrying him pretty low most of the time, in the mornings he will be higher but by afternoon/night he has wedged himself pretty low. It's kinda funny if I take pictures through out the day you can see the progression of it, it's just crazy!

Time for a Catch Up!---We Found Italian Food!!!

Here is another catch up post since Blogger was not letting me post pictures there for a few weeks!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One weekend we decided to try another restaurant off base (if you haven't noticed we are getting more daring! and venturing off base more!) I kept hearing about this Italian place, and if you know Bryan and I then you know we LOVE Italian food! We just hadn't found the time or the directions to go there, but as luck would have it, my AMMO wives group did a lunch there a couple weeks ago! So not only had a I tried their food BUT I knew how to get there!!! So for our Easter dinner celebration (because I was NOT making a big dinner for just the two of us!) we decided to go to to Marinos!

First off let me just say, that this place actually looks like a restaurant! It's not a hole in the wall or in a 'strip' mall it's an actual building! Pretty nice! Also they had unlimited drink! To get that off base is unheard of! Also the food, oh my gosh the food was ah-mazing! I could eat there every day! The way this place does the menu is a bit different though. You order by how many people are in your party, and then depending on that depends on how many choices you get. So for instance since we had two people we got Salad, Pizza, Pasta, and Dessert, but we decided to add a side of their Cheese Fondue because I had heard great things about that! Anyways back to the menu, everything you order you share, so you have to agree on what kind of salad (they had so many choices, we just did Caesar), Pizza (we did mushroom) and what kind of Pasta (we did the kind with bacon and cream sauce), as the for the desserts they have a HUGE dessert bar and each person gets to pick THREE desserts! Wohoo that is my type of restaurant!!!

Bryan's happy because of the free pop bar!!! Wohoo, here in Japan they have this awesome drink called White Water I don't think it's actually water, but we have no idea what it is, you can only find it at restaurants (trust me I have looked at the stores!), we each drank probably 5 glasses of it!

Another failed attempt at a self timer shot

Caesar salad to share

The pasta is made fresh at your table, in a HUGE giant cheese wheel!!!

Yummy pasta!!!

Our cheese fondue this was sooo good!!!

Mushroom Pizza, I wasn't that big of a fan it was good but the mushrooms were different Bryan of course loved it!

My three desserts! I loved the little fruit tarts!

Bryan's desserts!

Not only was the drink bar free, but it included pop and coffees!!!

Time for a Catch Up!--Bryan's Birthday Celebrations!

Okay first let me just start off by saying that I have not been ignoring this blog, but rather Blogger wouldn't let me upload pictures for some reason and I wasn't going to post about restaurants we went to if I couldn't post pictures! So this is a long one, and there will be a few more new posts over the next few hours/days to catch up on our time!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For Bryan's birthday he had to work of course, I think you realize you are a grown up when you have to go to work on your birthday! Nobody likes that, but he didn't complain (too much lol)! So since we couldn't go out for dinner on Thursday we went to lunch instead!

We ended up at the Tee House Restaurant, which is on the golf course at Kadena. It's a pretty good little place, with good food and GREAT views! You can see the flight line and the ocean (when it's not foggy!) so it's neat to see planes come in and land or take off while eating.

We both got the gyros! Yum! And I got the mac n' cheese as my side, seriously it's the best mac n' cheese EVER!

Bryan got onions on his yuck lol and the tortilla soup.

And here we are on Bryan's 28th Birthday!

When Bryan got home on his birthday at oh around 11:30pm I had dinner waiting for him! I made a new recipe that I found for Shrimp Pasta. It was awesome! Even the sauce was homemade, so I think he got himself a pretty good birthday dinner if I do say so myself! I also made a dessert of pumpkin cake, too bad I forgot to buy candles for him to blow out!

My awesome Shrimp Pasta dish!!

Bryan with his cake! You will see a little section without frosting...yup that was for Bella! She had to celebrate too!

Since Bryan worked on his birthday and I still like to dinner out for birthdays we went out on Saturday night. We tried a new (to us) place on the island, that I had heard good things about, plus it's a Tex-Mex restaurant! The closest thing to Mexican we can get around here unless you count Taco Bell (and I don't).  The food was awesome and the atmosphere was like what you would expect at a little Mexican cafe! Seriously it surprised me!

Homemade salsa (so yummy) and chips

My meal of Sour Cream Chicken Enchiladas! OMG so good!

Bryan's meal of Beef Enchilada, Chicken Taco and sides.

And a failed attempt at the whole timer shot lol

Alright well there you have it the wonderful celebrations of Bryan's 28th Birthday! It was the first birthday we have celebrated here in Okinawa, and even though we didn't get to celebrate with family we still had a fun time and made it special with just the two (er I mean 3 of us since Bella got cake too!) of us.  And I completely think Bryan will have to make me a homemade dinner for my birthday in July however at that point in my pregnancy since it will be a month before my due date I may just want icecream lol that would be easy!
