Our Week in Review

This past week Bryan and I have been busy, we had quite a few things to do and got a lot done so it was a good week all in all.

Bryan only worked four days last week so that was a nice break to have him home during the middle of the week and it broke the week up nicely! We did however spend most of the day at the Vet on base trying to get Bella updated on her yearly shots. Remind us to never again go on walk in day lol However that night the Club was having their Club Membership Appreciation Night so we were able to go to that! With Bryan working Swing Shift we rarely get to go the events that happen during the week. So it was a nice midweek dinner out =)

This last weekend Bryan and I went back to The Harbor church, the one that has service on Sunday night. We really enjoyed it again and I really do think we found our 'home church' for the rest of the time we are in Okinawa. It's just such a great group of people, and we feel at home there! Next Sunday night they are having a potluck dinner before service so that will be fun to get to meet more people at that!

We were suppose to be having a HUGE typhoon yesterday BUT it was a bust lol We didn't really get any bad weather even though it was ranked as a Category 4 Typhoon. It moved too far east of the island and out to the ocean so we just got a little wind and rain. Nothing too terrible and we were a little disappointed that we still haven't got to experience a REAL typhoon yet! Bryan did however get the whole day off, so that made for a nice three day weekend!! Today we actually got more rain than we did yesterday and today we are not any typhoon/storm warning! Here is a satellite view of the Typhoon Guchol which was suppose to overtake our island, this was live last night at 8:30pm our time!

On to Baby News:

Friday I had a Doctor's appointment, and found out that Little Bennett is growing a ton, because he is measuring a week AHEAD! The midwife said that would put him at around four pounds, at least he is growing =) I also met with a new midwife at the OB Clinic, there are three midwives and I will see all three before I deliver that way I get a chance to meet them all. So far I really like this one, the first one was okay but this last one was great she was super informative and just seemed to have a better attitude! I was also greatly surprised that in the 4 weeks from my last OB appointment I had only gained another pound! That is just crazy, I honestly thought I would have gained more, but I am happy that I didn't lol So I am a up a total of 15 pounds now (and I blame my trip back to the States on 10 of those pounds lol) My next appointment is not til July 13th and I will be 36 weeks then, almost to Full Term!

I was able to finally sign Bryan and I up for some classes that we had to take, so we start those next week! Being able to sign up for classes and realizing that when one of those classes gets done (it's a six week class), I will be just one week from my due date is crazy!!! Bryan and I can hardly believe that we only have 51 days til Bennett's due date, too us that is insane! This pregnancy has gone so fast!

Since Bryan had yesterday off we were able to get some things done in the nursery! We were able to get quite a bit of stuff hung up on the walls and now they don't look so blank! I wish we could paint or at least not have wood panel walls, but those are not changing so I guess we have to live with them haha Today I was able to get one of the curtains done!!! Now I just have two more to sew ugh those things are awful to iron and pin to get ready, the sewing I don't mind its the prepping I hate!! Here is a little sneak peak at what we hung up yesterday:

So as of today we are 32 weeks and 5 days along, I'll be 33 weeks on Thursday. In the last couple days it seems the uncomfortableness of pregnancy has really set in. Sleeping is the worse, whenever I lay down the heartburn and indigestion comes on full force and that is just nasty! Also my hips and lower back are having a heck of time with laying down as well, I wish I could sleep sitting up then I would probably sleep a whole lot more than I am! Thankfully I haven't experienced anymore swelling except for when I flew back home, so I am happy about that! The humidity here is torture! We have 100% humidity most days, so when the temp is 84 degrees it feels like 104 degrees! Not really the type of weather I want to be out in! We invested in some more fans so now Bella and I camp out in front of those most nights and just let our hair blow in the wind lol And here is the 32 week Bennett Belly, excuse the hair and red face we had just gotten home from a birthday party that had been outside at the park all afternoon!!:

Well I think that is all for this week's news! This coming weekend we are having our maternity pictures done! I am so super excited for those and can't wait, hopefully the weather plays nice for us and we don't have to reschedule!!

New News!

Again it's been awhile since I last updated this ole' blog here, I seriously sometimes just forget we even have it! I am just so used to updating Facebook with pictures and news that I forget that I started this blog as well. Hopefully you all have been staying up to date with Facebook and if you haven't then you should! Because I can't promise I will keep this up to date when Bennett arrives I am sure I will be much busier and preoccupied to update two social medias lol

Anyways, lots has happened since my last post. I was able to spend about a month back in the States and arrived back on island the middle of May, so that was a nice visit and I am so happy I was able to get back and see family and friends!!! I won't be back Stateside now until after the New Year (and probably leaning closer to February) so it was nice to get back one last time before I start traveling with a baby all by myself!! I'm really hoping to be able to get home twice next year (2013) once in February'ish' and then again during the summer months as well (maybe June/July/August) not sure yet, as Bennett and I will be flying Space A again.

Bryan and I bought a new car last week! My little Will Vi was too little for our new addition and it was time to get something bigger! So we sold my little blue car to a friend (and thankfully she loves the car as much as I did, it was super fun to drive, it had so much zip to it lol), and we bought a Honda Spike. It kind of reminds me of a mini-van but Bryan says it's not...even though it does have sliding doors on both sides. Either way it's bigger and it gets the job done, and it's a pretty easy car to drive as well. It's also blue...which is the one reason I think Bryan wanted this car so badly =)

Here in Okinawa we are officially in Typhoon season (June 1st-Nov. 30th) we had our first 'scare' of a typhoon last week but it missed us and headed out farther to sea. Bryan was disappointed because if we get one he gets a 'typhoon day' and gets the day off work! This week we are in a 'Tropical Depression' warning, which could turn into a typhoon or it could just be rainy (like it is today). Either way with all this rain it makes the humidity so much worse! It's kinda gross when you walk outside and just sweat! Icky!

Yesterday (Sunday) we tried a new church and I think both Bryan and I like it enough to go back next week! It's called The Harbor and is located off base, but it's filled with young couples (all military) and meets at either 1800 Friday night (6pm) or 1800 Sunday night (6pm), so no mornings! It was a nice little place and everyone seemed super friendly, so hopefully this church will be the last one we visit and we can call it 'home' for the next 27 months of our time here.

In Baby News:
We are now at 31 weeks (and 4 days as of today) in my pregnancy! I can't believe that this is going so fast! We still have a lot to get done before Bennett makes his appearance, we hoping he arrives a little early (BUT not too early!) so we are on a time crunch now to get things done! It seems our 'To Do List' grows daily and as soon as we cross one thing off two more get added to it! We also have a few things left to buy for Bennett so we need to get our butts in gear and get things done!!!

I must say I am very surprised at how 'easy' this pregnancy has been, if all future pregnancies could be this easy I would gladly have 20 more kids (haha I joke don't worry Bryan!). But in all seriousness some days I would forget I am pregnant if it weren't for Bennett's constant kicks and punches, I am so thankful for the ease of this especially with being so far from family, it's nice to have it smooth sailing!

Last week Bryan and I went off base to have another 4D elective ultrasound done. I won't be getting anymore ultrasounds on base since I am not high risk, so we wanted to see our little guy one more time, and I was hoping to get some good pictures of his face and his little chubby cheeks since the last ultrasound at 20 weeks he was still kinda 'alienish' lol here are a few of those shots we got (sorry for them being blurry but I had to take a picture of the actual picture so not the best quality):

I think he was licking/sucking on his arm here! So cute!!

and here is his little leg and foot (currently kicking my ribs!!)

and another face shot, I think he looks cute already but I am biased lol
I go back to the doctor on Friday June 15th, so hopefully everything still looks good. I *should* start going every 2 weeks after this but with so many pregnant women here it will just depend on how busy the office is. Since I am not high risk they are okay with only seeing me every 4 weeks, I at least hope to be seen every 2 weeks though starting at 36 weeks!

Here are some recent Bennett Bump pictures:

Well hopefully I will remember to update this more, but if not you can always find the latest news on Facebook!!
