Christmas Eve--Recap

Christmas Eve was such a nice night for us this year, there was no pressure in things we 'had' to do or places we 'had' to be. It was just a relaxing time at home just the 3 (well 4 if you count Bella) of us. Christmas Eve day time was spent doing some cleaning and a last minute run to the grocery store (pesky items like milk, bread and eggs...oh and pie!). Otherwise it was very low key.

I also had been putting off making Bella and Bennett's stockings. I made Bryan and I's last year and since Bella was still with my parents last Christmas I hadn't made her's yet. So I had to sew their stockings and get them finished, nothing like procrastinating til' the day before they are needed!! But they got done, and looked good so that is what matters!

I made Chicken Enchilada soup, rolls and we skipped dessert because the soup was so good we were stuffed! We even drank some good ole fashioned wine sparkling red grape juice (I still can't stomach real wine lol).
as you can see we were getting Santa's letter ready!

Bryan gave me a Christmas present early, and it was a copy of my very own Christmas Vacation!! Now we have it on Blu-Ray and it's not a crappy picture from the 80's!

We also gave B some new Christmas pajamas and the story book The Night Before Christmas. After baths we curled up in bed to read.

Reading The Night Before Christmas
After the story was finished we decided to do a little 'Santa Tracking' on Norad, just to see where Santa was at...
Okinawa is the little island in the middle of the black with a present on it!

Bryan and I got everything ready for Christmas morning 'Santa' aka Bryan ate the cookies and milk that Bennett left for Santa, and we placed his Santa gift out and finished filling stockings. Then Bryan and I cuddled up on the couch and enjoyed Christmas Vacation.

B in his new jammies with his milk and cookies for Santa!

It was such a great night, and even though we didn't get to spend it with family we still had a good time!

Bennett is 5 Months

Bennett is FIVE months old as of today! Seriously this is going way too fast for me, I don't understand how time used to go so slow and now that we have a baby time is just flying by. I wish I had the superpower to make time stand still, so I could keep B at this age longer. I am definitely NOT wishing time away or for time to hurry up by no means!

This month B's stats are:
Weight: right around 19 pounds!!!!!! (we don't go back to Dr. til' 6 months to get a for sure weight)
Length: 25 1/2 inches long
Clothes: he actually as of this morning is fitting in 6-9 months and some 3-6 month still, but mostly 6-9 months.
Shoes: some 2 otherwise 3 mostly I think he is going to be tall like Bryan's side of  the family!
Diapers: size 3

This past month has been a busy one for B, he has learned so many new things and has grown so much (as you can tell by the huge increase in weight this month!). B is eating right about 4-5 bottles a day and they are usually 7-8oz. However this past week I think he hit a growth spurt, because in a 2 hour span he ate 15oz! He has also been napping more this past week, which I have been told is a sign of a growth spurt? Not sure but either way he is growing like a weed...fast!

Bennett is still sleeping in our room, he is sleeping about 10-11 hours a night still which is awesome! I am so extremely happy that B is such a good night time sleeper! Bryan and I haven't decided on when we will move Bennett into his nursery, for now I can't bare the thought of him not being in there with us. However I do know that eventually he needs to make the transition at some point and preferably before our next baby is born HA!

This past month Bennett celebrated his first Christmas (I have another post about that), it was such a fun day and we know he won't remember it, but we will so we wanted to make it special for him! B also had his first babysitter this month as well! Bryan and I had Bryan's squadron holiday party so B went to the babysitter, I was so nervous about it and for the whole 3 hours we were gone I worried. It was a nice night and we were able to get dressed up (I even got my hair and makeup done!) and go out by ourselves which we hadn't done in almost 5 months! Bennett did pretty well, I guess he did cry for a little bit but I expected that, and they didn't call us to come and get him so I guess it was a success!

Bennett hasn't quite mastered the rolling over yet, but I think it's because he likes to lay on his side so much! He does get 'over' just not all the way because then he stops and just lays there and giggles, I'm not sure how much longer it will be before he rolls over all the way. He does the side roll both ways though and loves to just lay there and watch us or tv or his little musical thing. He is also a side sleeper, he LOVES to sleep on his side and will roll to his side no matter where he is sleeping.

Sitting up is coming along, B loves to sit in his bumbo (although he does try to get out of it by arching his back), his little walker thingy and his activity sitting thing. He also is trying to mastering the sitting up with out help. I really think his head size is holding him back...the doctor even called him a bobble head! It's nothing serious and it's nothing wrong, it's just he has a very round large head and will eventually grow into it. But for now I think it just weighs a lot!

Now for B's 5 month pictures!

B is FOUR months old!

Bennett you are 4 months old today, how did that happen! I can not even fathom how fast these next few months will go and soon you will be ONE and it just makes me tear up thinking about you growing up! You are still my little baby and I wish there was a way to make you stay a 'baby' forever...but I guess that won't happen!

4 Months Stats:
Weight: 15.9 pounds
Length: 25 inches! ( 2ft and 1in)
Clothes Size: 3-6months
Shoe Size: 1 or 2
Diapers: OS cloth diapers and size 2 disposables for night time

Bennett you have really started noticing things around you this past month! It's so much fun to watch you just take it all in, you have also started reacting to other people. I think you are going to have a shy side to you, it takes you a little while to warm up to new people. That isn't a bad thing and truthfully, I consider it a good thing. People need to earn your trust first, and that makes me feel a bit better about the whole stranger danger thing!

You are so 'talkative' you talk all day long, and I love having conversations with you! You talk to the tv, and to Bella! Bella really does love you! She spends most of her days just laying by you when you are on the floor playing, or is not too far away from you. I seriously LOVE it! Watching the two of you together is so much fun, you two will be the best of friends in a couple more years!!

You had your first cold this month as well. I hate seeing you sick and I feel so bad you are sick especially since you caught the cold from me =( I figured this would happen at some point, I mean we do spend every day all day long together!  I hated seeing you all congested and runny nose. But at least we have the first cold under our belts!

You are also getting better at tummy time as well! This is a huge improvement in this area because you used to HATE tummy time and scream and scream until we turned you back over to your back. However you recently have been more tolerant of it! This is great news =)

Here are a few pictures from today, on your exact four month birthday! Such a big boy and all smiles =)
